preHEAT is a new trial that is due to start recruiting in October.

It is a feasibility study to evaluate local heat preconditioning with respect to its effects on wound healing after reconstructive breast surgery in patients with breast cancer– a single blind randomised controlled trial.

The preHEAT trial has been awarded £216,533 from the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit Scheme and will be run at Guy’s & St. Thomas’ Hospital.
