The RSTN was awarded funding by the RCS(Eng), following a competitive process, to complete a systematic review of antibiotic use in hand trauma.

The aim is to produce a review that will support a funding proposal for a future trial (TAHITI, therapeutic antibiotics in hand trauma). The process is being supervised by Dr Irene Kreis.

The metaanalysis has been accepted for publication in the British Journal of Surgery. The next step is exploring protocol development for a trial. BSSH Audit data will also help inform this process.
