Individuals submitting abstracts are expected to register for and attend the meeting.

Win the opportunity to design and run the next national breast surgery collaborative project…….and an iPad Mini!

The Mammary Fold Academic and Research Collaborative is a subgroup of the Mammary Fold Breast Trainees’ Group that aims to support trainees to develop and deliver well-designed, high-quality and timely research and audit in breast disease with the aim of ultimately improving the quality of patient care.

We are looking for the next big project and would like to invite trainees as individuals or as groups to submit their ideas.

Proposals should contain the following information in no more than 500 words:

 Name of lead and other team members, including institutions

 Background and rationale for the study

 The proposed study design

Studies in all areas of breast disease will be considered, but proposed projects should have relevance to surgery. Submissions will be anonymised and judged by a panel of methodologists and surgeons. The main focus will be on the feasibility, deliverability and importance of the idea rather than specifics of the study design.

Authors will be informed of the outcome by 8th January. Shortlisted individuals/teams will be invited to present their ideas in a Dragons’ Den, which will be held at the Mammary Fold Research Day on 12th February 2016. A mentor will be available to shortlisted teams to provide support if needed.

The winning team will have the opportunity to run their study as the next national breast collaborative project with the support of the MFAC and will win an iPad Mini.

Submissions should be emailed to mfac.research@gmail.com . You may submit as many ideas as you like and work individually or as part of a group.

The deadline for submissions is 1st December 2015. Please contact us using the email address above if you have any queries, and good luck!
